Plyo Ball Set

Our plyo balls are 12 inches in diameter to match the size of a softball. A set includes three overload balls – 1 lb, 12 oz, and 8 oz, one 7 oz ball to match the weight of a softball and one under load ball – 5 oz.  Filled with sand, the oscillation of the ball when doing throwing drills – whether pitching or overhand throwing – provides good feedback to the athlete of where her arm is allowing for great adaptations of throwing and pitching patterns.  Because of their rubber exterior, the plyo balls can be thrown against a wall and are best done without a partner allowing for good transportability of pitching and overhand throwing drills.

There are numerous ways the plyo balls can be used, but we suggest incorporating them as part of a thoughtful program that takes into account training age, time of year, intensity, arm care etc. especially when incorporating over- and underload.
